Welcome to Darby Plains Danes
It is our goal to follow the Great Danes Breeders Color Code by breeding forward, never backwards. The Great Dane Club of America recognizes 6 colors of which they are in 3 groups. The Fawn and Brindle, the Harlequin and Mantle, the Blue and Black. We have chosen the Harlequin and Mantle Color group for breeding. Which will also produce the Merle and the Blacks (Harlequin bred). We screen all of our breeding stock for the Piebald Gene. Many of our dogs have had their hips checked using the PennHIP method.
We are located 25 miles south of Columbus, Ohio about a 1/4 mile from the Big Darby Creek State and National Scenic River. Nearby residents call it the "Darby Creek" or just "The Creek". Summers and falls our Danes look forward to afternoon swims in the creek. This website is constantly evolving. We try to provide the kind information that we would be looking and asking for if we were searching for a puppy to buy. While this site is viewable on small mobile devices, not all pages display correctly, tablets and desktops provide the best viewing experience. Please enjoy our website! --------------------------------------------------------------
