If you don't see your name just send us an email to have your name re-posted on the waiting list.
The names on the Approved Waiting List are in order of the date received. You may submit your puppy preferences on the ‘Puppy Preference Submittal Form’ making as many changes as you like until the closing date.
Your last Puppy Preference Submittal form will take preference over any prior forms submitted. The ‘Closing Date’ will be approximately 30 – 35 days after the birth of the litter and will be posted. The choices you submit will be posted to the Approved Puppy Applications page in the far right column. You will need to view this page on a tablet or desktop computer. This column should give you a somewhat of an idea of your chances of getting your pick.
The reason we went from 3 weeks to 35 days to lock in a puppy with a deposit is to allow interested families to make a more informed decision. A 3 week old puppy has not develop much of a personality, they're just cute at that age!
Darby Plains Danes requires a $300 retainer be made prior to the closing date of the bidding process or a credit card number be made available. If you do not get your chosen puppy choice then the retainer is totally refundable. After you have approved your puppy choice the day after closing the $300 will become a non-refundable puppy deposit. The retainer or deposit may be made by cash, check or credit card. Retainers are totally refundable, deposits are non-refundable.
The day following the closing date the name highest on the list, that is interested in a puppy, will have the opportunity to place a deposit for the puppy. The second highest name on the list will then have the opportunity to place a deposit on any available puppy of their choosing, then the third interested party and so forth down the list. On "Deposit Due Date" if you are not available to place a deposit or have not made prior arrangements you will loss your position. Any remaining puppies still available after this process will go to the first deposit received from anyone on the approved list.
Schedule puppy visits are encouraged after they are 3 weeks old. However, do to health reasons no physical contact with the puppies will be allowed. Plus prior to exiting your vehicle you will be require to wear a pair of provided, and very fashionable, shoe covers.
